What is the role of Flutamide in advanced cases of Female Pattern Hair loss? - QR 678

Flutamide has been very successful in treating hirsutism because of PCOS and female pattern hair loss. Flutamide acts as an antiandrogen and most women have shown marked decrease in pattern hair loss after taking flutamide therapy for about 12 months. Flutamide has also been more effective than spironolactone or cyproteron and in some cases even Minoxidil. After two years of treatment based on Flutamide (250mg per day) most patients had shown highly satisfactory results in terms of controlled hair growth.
