Minoxidil can cause mild irritation of the scalp, dryness and might cause excessive hair growth in other parts of the body such as face and hands. Finasteride can cause a decrease in sexual drive and temporary impotency; however these effects lessen with prolonged use. Women cannot take Finasteride or even touch the tablets as this drug can cause feminization of male foetus in pregnant ladies.
